Sorry for the prolonged absense from the blog world. We have been up to our necks in an emergency remodel of the entire first floor of our home here in Wichita.
You see, when water comes in through the open roof because the roofers didn't put up the blue tarps, bad things happen to lathe and plaster ceilings and walls.
When the ceilings are down, it doesn't make sense not to go ahead and rewire the house, and refinish woodwork, and paint windows, and paint walls, and paint woodwork, and ...
You get the idea. The movers came on Saturday, and we finished getting every stinkin' thing we own out of the house last night about 11:00pm. Then we went to Dairy Queen. I ordered an ibuprofen blizzard.
The floor guys are there today, refinishing about 1700 square feet of oak. It looks really, really good.
So it will all be worth it, in the end.
But for now, it really, really, really sucks.
